I couldn’t have ended my Virginia sessions any better way. Morgan and her horse Leo were amazing in front of the camera for her equine senior portraits. I was so thankful she was able to reschedule from Sunday to Monday (the last day I was in Chesapeake) since Sunday had rain in the forecast. Luckily we had awesome weather and the perfect glowy light for her dream session.

These are some of my favorite senior portraits I’ve done and Morgan’s recently purchased off-the-track Thoroughbred added even more dreaminess to this Hickory High School senior session. Leo, an 11-year-old chestnut, was a perfect gentleman for pictures. Morgan was worried he wouldn’t be photogenic but he was a pro! These two together should definitely be on the cover of a magazine. Morgan’s natural beauty is stunning and her handsome gelding was the perfect accessory for her senior pictures.

Morgan rides at River Run Farm in Chesapeake, VA and trains with Nicole Etheridge. The farm was the perfect backdrop for photos, especially the awesome tree in the front pasture. I’m a sucker for ginormous old trees and this one was no exception. Morgan will be graduating from Hickory High School in just a few days and will be heading to Virginia Tech in the fall to study animal sciences.

I am so honored to create these portraits during such a special season of life for Morgan. I know they will be cherished for years to come. For those of you who don’t know me, professional senior portraits with my horse are something I regretfully don’t have, so it truly is a dream to be able to capture them for others. I left Morgan’s session feeling so fulfilled with an indescribable feeling knowing that I am following my passion and carrying out what I am meant to do.
