DIY Master Bathroom Remodel
Before & After

I finally made the time to share our master bathroom remodel that we completed back in February of last year. We had never done such a big project and it was our first time doing tile so it was an adventure to say the least! We couldn’t have done it without the help of friends and family and I am soooo happy with how everything turned out! All of the hard work, late nights, 425384679 trips to Home Depot and construction dust all over everything were totally worth it!

Here are some (pretty embarrassing) before pictures of the ugly carpet that went all the way up to the vanity and garden tub, our tiny little shower that was crammed into a small area with the toilet and the ugly linoleum floor. Sorry for all the crappy cell phone pictures…I never thought to get decent before pictures before we started the demo.

You could barely walk in the room with the shower and toilet and have room to close the door. I don’t know who came up with that design!

And the demolition starts…

We tore out the garden tub that we never used and put in a double headed shower.

Once the garden tub was removed we got the plumbing in for our double shower heads, installed the shower pan and went to work with the backer board.

This is where the old vanity was. We took out the medicine cabinet on the left wall and got rid of the carpet! Woohoo!

and the tiny room where the shower and toilet used to be…yay for no more tiny shower and ugly linoleum!

We covered up the old blue paint with Valspar Lamb’s Ear and finally, it was time to start tiling after the liquid waterproofing was all dry.

Justin hard at work cutting some tile 🙂

Once the shower was tiled we started the tile floor.

When it was finally time to grout the end was in sight!

Now for the completed after pictures!!! What a difference!

We bought the vanity from Home Depot, it came with the granite top and inset sinks that went perfectly with the tile and oil rubbed bronze fixtures.

Where the old tiny shower used to be we installed shelves and I found these baskets at Kohl’s…because who doesn’t need more storage?

Now for some side by side before and after!! WOW!

I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out (even though it ended up costing way more than we had planned) and I owe a huge thank you to my husband for all of the hard work he put into this! And to our awesome friend, Justin, who we couldn’t have done any of this without!!

Next up is the guest bathroom, which is just as awesome as this one! Keep an eye out for it later this week.
