A Girl and Her Horse
This session was not your typical session with the only goal being beautiful portraits. It was a session to show a little girl that she is beautiful and brave. Izzy was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 6 years old. Being diagnosed and dealing with the new lifestyle that comes with T1D had Izzy feeling down and exhausted. Izzy’s mom reached out to me looking for ways to help Izzy feel like the “loved, strong, cowgirl princess that she really is” and thought a portrait session showing that Izzy is not so different from other kids her age, even with T1D, would do just that.
At the barn, Izzy can forget for a little bit that she has type 1 diabetes and she gets to just be the horse-loving little girl that she is. I was so honored to capture the joy Izzy’s horse, Dusty, brings her. He is a sweet older gentleman who is so good with Izzy. It’s amazing what horses help us get through in life.
Izzy was so good and had a blast during her session. She had the cutest outfits too! Here are a few of my favorites from this special session.
