Elizabeth and Carl were recently married on their gorgeous farm in Ashland, VA. They definitely wanted their animals in their portraits but knew it would be too hectic the day of the wedding so we captured some bride and groom portraits with their horses and dogs just last weekend. Thankfully we had absolutely perfect weather and some gorgeous evening light.
This was my first time going to Ashland and it is so peaceful and quiet. Elizabeth and Carl have worked so hard on their farm and it shows! Their adorable house and well-kept farm was the perfect backdrop for their bride and groom portraits with all of their animals. Even better, their two horses and two dogs were so cooperative for pictures and allowed us to get a ton of great shots!
Some of you may know that I had always planned to have my bridal portraits taken with my mare, Bree, but she passed away before that could happen. This session was extra special to me because I know Elizabeth and Carl will look back on these for years to come and it fills my heart to know I was able to give them something I don’t have for myself. In this crazy life, you never know when something will be taken away so capture the moments while you have them!
Here are some of my favorite pictures from this gorgeous couple’s equestrian session.
Bride and Groom Portraits with Horses
Does it get any more perfect?!
This evening light was amazing!
We just had to end the session with a little bareback ride on Sprinkles!
Elizabeth and Carl, thank you so much for having me out to your farm to create these portraits for you! It was truly an honor.
