On my last trip to Virginia in November my cousin Strad was on the list for senior pictures. Strad’s senior session was supposed to be on the oceanfront at 65th street in Virginia Beach. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans for us. When the whole day was a washout with no other options to reschedule, we decided to move his session inside, to the “Gentlemen’s Room” at his house. It actually turned out to be a baller senior session! I felt like we were shooting his young executive portraits instead of a senior session.
Since we were inside with no window light, I had to break out my flash which is something I hardly ever do. I was thankful I had even packed it with me since I really only use it at wedding receptions. Luckily I had my awesome assistant tagging along with me for the week (also known as my littlest brother, Matthew, who works for McDonald’s chicken nuggets) and he was my makeshift light stand. These photos definitely are more dark and moody than my typical style but I like how they turned out with my super basic flash skills!
Strad is a senior at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School in Virginia Beach and is an exceptional student and talented athlete. He plays soccer and lacrosse so you know we had to incorporate his two sports into his session somehow. He is hoping to attend Clemson University next fall, hence the orange bowtie with paw prints.

And of course…we had to go down to the garage to get photos with his dad’s Ferrari! These are my favorites!
