Sarah & Alex
Virginia Beach Military Homecoming

I have been so honored to be a part of so many homecomings lately, but I was especially excited about this one because it was my first fly-in homecoming…which is pretty awesome by the way! Not only that, but Sarah is also a photographer and it was so awesome (and a little nerve wrecking) to capture these memories for a fellow creative! We had great weather (besides being super hot) for this sweet family’s homecoming at NAS Oceana.

I had so much fun getting to know Sarah and her son Jack as we waited for her husband, Alex, to arrive at the hangar. Jack is the sweetest little boy and was such a good sport about waiting so long in the heat for his daddy! Sarah ordered a little mini flight suit with a custom name tag on it for Jack. Alex’s call sign is Skuit, so Jack’s name patch on his flight suit said “Lil Skuit”….how adorable?!

Since the pictures can tell the story better than any words can…here are some of my favorites from their day and of their reunion after 8 months.

Jack was getting sleepy but he behaved so well having to wait so long in the heat!

After they landed and started getting into formation, the excitement rose among the families!

Finally, here they come!!!

Sarah, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your homecoming, it was such an honor and so great getting to know you! Welcome home to Alex and all of the Jolly Rogers and thank you to you and your families for your sacrifices and service!
