Cypress Creek Country Club Wedding – Virginia Beach, VA

When Lauren and Tyler asked me to be a part of their wedding day as their photographer I was so honored and excited!! (You might recognize them from their engagement session last fall.) Since I am Lauren’s cousin, she was worried I wouldn’t be able to have fun and enjoy the wedding if I was taking pictures, but I loved getting to spend so much time with them throughout the day and I wouldn’t have had it any other way!

Lauren and Tyler had their ceremony at Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church with a reception immediately following at Cypress Point Country Club both located in Virginia Beach, VA. When I arrived to start the getting ready photos of the girls, it was anywhere from a light drizzle to a heavy downpour the entire morning! We were all praying for a break in the rain at some point so we could get portraits outside. Our prayers were answered. The way things worked out was just like they were meant to be! After the ceremony, there was a break in the rain and even a peak from the sun for just a few minutes!! Woohoo!!

I have never seen such a beautiful reception setup! Cypress Point was the perfect backdrop for Lauren’s wedding colors: peach, light pink and french blue. So many reception venues have patterned wallpaper and unattractive carpet, but Cypress Point had beautiful light blue walls, white trim, wood floors and carpet that complimented everything perfectly! Not to mention a ton of windows in the main room for amazing natural light to shine through. Thanks to the amazing work of Shaunie and Olivia Claire Design, the beautiful decor was the finishing touch on the reception!

Lauren was such a gorgeous and easy going bride. Even with the rain, she never showed any signs of stress. After all, when you are about to marry your best friend, nothing can ruin your day! Lauren and Tyler are the sweetest couple and just by watching them throughout the day you could see how much they are in love. The way Tyler was so attentive to Lauren and the way Lauren gazed at Tyler with a loving smile was so heartwarming. I know they will have an amazing time on their honeymoon in California enjoying this unforgettable time in their lives!
