My Virginia equine photographer sessions continue with Alexa and Rosco. I was so honored when Alexa asked me if I could squeeze in a 30-minute session before another shoot at the same farm, so of course, I made room in my busy schedule to capture the bond this pair has. She has been riding Rosco for as long as I can remember and these two definitely have a special relationship. I mean, who doesn’t have a soft spot for a big gray with the softest, sweetest eyes, a little snip and a puppy dog personality?
Rosco has learned all of his dressage training from Alexa and they are so much fun to watch! Alexa has such a good seat and Rosco responds so beautifully to her cues. Although Rosco wasn’t raised in the dressage world, he quickly picked it up and they placed well at the dressage shows. He has the large swoopy trot and lovely canter that everyone loves.
Thankfully we had a perfect evening for pictures with gorgeous light at the farm in southern Chesapeake, VA. And of course, we added in some black background portraits because they are so much fun and had great variety to every equestrian session gallery. Scroll to the end to see those.
Alexa & Rosco have done everything from dressage to foxhunting and trail riding to riding with Greg Best. Rosco is one of those horses that can pretty much do it all and aims to please.
