I am so excited to share this blog post! This session was so awesome for so many reasons. Julia and Cissy have been together since they were both just babies. Julia’s father owned a black and white paint stud, named Cisco, for 20 years before Julia was born. After she was born, she and her dad would go on trail rides as a baby and toddler on Cisco all over California.
Cisco sired a couple of foals right before he passed away. One of the ladies who owned a mare Cisco bred to heard about his passing and offered for them to keep the foal her mare would give birth to. That foal was Cissy, black and white color just like her dad, and she has been Julia’s best friend ever since. She is named after her dad (Cisco) and her mom (Encore), calling her “Cisco’s Encore” or “Cissy” for short.
Julia was there for her first steps and they have learned to ride and grown up together for the past 23 years. Cissy and Julia grew up in southern California, moved to Arizona for college, and recently moved to Virginia. Soon they will move to Texas for the start of Julia’s medical school with Cissy by her side! Talk about a companion!
Just hearing Julia’s and Cissy’s story gave me goosebumps and when I showed up for the session I just knew it was going to be amazing! Julia is gorgeous and had the absolute cutest outfits! We had perfect glowy sun to end the session and the weather was perfect. Here are some favorites from their session.
