4-H Senior Portraits
Kolby’s senior session was one of my favorites and it was super unique! Not many girls have a pig, a lamb, a steer, and a dog included in their senior portraits…but Kolby did!
Kolby is in 4-H and since it is such a big part of her life she wanted to include her animals in her portraits. When she asked me if that was ok I was like are you serious?! ABSOLUTELY!!
We used the stunning location of Wellington Farms in Virginia Beach for her session which was a beautiful backdrop.
We started with Tigger, the steer, who was so adorable! I’m a sucker for animal noses and Tigger’s was no exception. The animals were all great but the lamb, Roo, got loose right as it was his turn for pictures…which took us 30 minutes of running around to get him back 🤦🏻♀️. This is exactly why I build in extra time when working with animals…you never know when they are not going to fully cooperate!
We still had plenty of portrait time left once the lamb was done running his marathon around the farm. Next up was the pig, Walker, who stole the show! This pig is the coolest pig ever and behaved more like a dog than a pig. Just wait until you see the pictures and you’ll see what I mean. We also included Kolby’s cattle dog in with the pig!
I ended the session with some portraits of just Kolby and she had a fun idea to climb up on the trailer at the end! This session was so much fun and I was so honored to capture these portraits for her. Kolby will be heading to Ferrum in the fall.
Kolby, thank you for trusting me to capture you and your animals during this special time in your life.
