My last week in Virginia was filled to the brim with sessions. Now that we are pretty much all unpacked and settled in Washington I am finally getting around to sharing all of the goodness! My first session of the week was an equestrian session in Shawboro, NC with Tenley and Welly. This had been in the works for a long time and when it finally happened it was a dream!
Welly is the perfect (and most adorable) little pony for Tenley, he is so gentle and trustworthy, not to mention he put up with us putting a flower garland around his neck. He is an angel! We had a perfect spring evening for pictures at Emily’s farm in Shawboro, NC. The light cooperated beautifully and we created some of my favorite pictures to date.
It’s always an honor to create photographs of little girls and their ponies that will be so much fun to look back on for years to come. This is such a special time in a little girls life where there are no other cares in the world besides spending time at the barn with her pony. Having photographs of this season of life truly is priceless and is something no little girl should go without. Take it from someone who doesn’t have photos like this for herself.
For this session, I made a flower crown and garland from silk flowers I got at Hobby Lobby. It was my first time doing this so I wasn’t quite sure how they would come out but I think they turned out great, plus since they are silk I can reuse them! They aren’t as good as a professional florist would make with real flowers (that is next on my list) but they got the job done. Here are some of my favorites from their session…fair warning, you are about to be overloaded with cuteness!
Equestrian Session Shawboro NC
Of course we couldn’t leave out Sunny during the photo shoot. How cute is he?
The cuteness is off the charts!!
Now for some bloopers! The donkey kept wanting to come play with the garland on Welly, and Bella (Emily’s mare) followed suit and before we knew it they were running around the pasture together, flower garland and all.
This might be the best blooper picture ever!

You did a wonderful job. Which it came pretty easy I am sure with Tenley and her pony being beautiful. The last blooper is my all time favorite!!
